Ascribed Status: I saw ascribed status. In the weekly showdown the teams competes. Which ever team wins first becomes the upper class, then the merchants, cooks , and last comes the labors. The kids don't have a choice if they become the upper class or the cooks.
Social Solidarity: I saw social solidarity. The council tried to make everyone come to a service with all kinds of religions. No one showed up to the service. Then on of the members of the green team made a little bon fire and told every one that they could come if they wanted but they didn't have to if they didn't want to. So all most every one came to say some prayers.
Obligation: I saw obligation. Because every team has a job to do. If the don't do their job then the town would fall a part. The upper class don't really have to do any thing. But the cooks and the laborers have to do their jobs or no one would get there food.
Role: I saw role. Because Taylor, one of the council members, is rude to every one. She does things that make people really upset. She also tells everyone to "Deal with it". She doesn't do her job she just sits around doing nothing while everyone else is working really hard.

Poorest Pres.
The president of Uruguay Jose Mujica donates 90% of his $ 12,500 and keeps only $1,250. I think that this was a great thing for a president to do for charity. Just because he is a president doesn't mean that he needs a lot of money.

Kids Nation 3
Laws: In this episode I saw laws. Because the council decided to make some laws. Like a curfew because every one stayed up late and in the morning no one wanted to get up and do there jobs. Also everyone is just doing what they want when they want.
Values: In this episode I saw values. Because every team has jobs to do. When they do there jobs they get money to by things in the grocery store. They get to spend the money on what ever they want to. Also the upper class don't really have to do anything but they still get paid.
Socialization: In this episode I saw socialization. Because every one is trying to learn how to work together and how to get a long with everyone. They kids don't get a long, they argue. They don't really listen to each other so they don't agree very much.

Kid Nations 2
In this episode I saw beliefs. Some of the kids didn't want to kill the chickens because they think that it is mean. They think that animals are our friends. They thought that it is not right to kill them. They think that animals are humans too. Not just food.
In this episode I saw drives. One of the kids didn't want to kill any of the chickens. So she got a couple of kids and tied the door to the chicken coop shut. They tried to save them. But one of the kids got them to untie the door and come out. Finally the kids agreed to only let them kill 2 chickens and that's it.
In this episode I saw formal sanctions. Because all of the members of each team has to work together with there team mates. They are trying to get the pipes together so that they can get it to the wheel. so that they don't lose the game. They are trying to get it done so that they can get the prize.

Pets
Two of my favorite pets are dogs and bunnies. Dogs will always be there for you, they will protect you if they think that someone is hurting you. Also they can help protect your home when you are not there. Bunnies are cuddly animals. It is fun to feed them and play with them as well.

Vocab
Social Structure: The kids are trying to get along with each other. Learning how to work together. They fight but then they be fine and work together to figure it out. Like when they tried to make mac and cheese for every one it didn't work out so they to try to work together to make more. They came together and made more food for everyone.
Symbolic Interactionism: When one of he town counsel helped one of the 10 year old boys feel better. By trying to do what his parents used to do, like tucking him at night. Also by comforting him when he is sad. Also by helping him with any thing that makes him feel bad.
Power: When someone tries to control someone else. When on of the members kept on trying to control everyone in his group. He told them what to do. And he was mean to everyone and didn't do any of the work. He made everyone do every thing while he didn't do anything at all.

Dear Mrs. DeBolt,
I would like to tell you about some of my favorite things. My favorite movie is Frozen, Catching Fire and Despicable Me 2. Favorite color is neon blue, favorite animal is dogs, and favorite food is chocolate cake with butter cream frosting. Some things I like to do are look for snakes and bugs. I like to play softball but I don't really play I play for fun. I also like to spend a lot of time with my family too.
One of the coolest things that happened to me and my brother is when we went sledding one time. At first we both went down on the same sled for a couple times. Then he wanted to go down by himself and when he did he ran straight into a tree. so we went down together a few more times after that and didn't hit any trees. He wanted to try to go down again by himself, and he hit the same tree again. I fell on the ground laughing at him but then he started to laugh too. but he was not hurt so we kept on sledding. And when I went down by myself I didn't hit any tree at all.
Some activities I like to do with technology are email my family, watch movies, and look at funny videos on U Tube. I help my parents with the computer some times when they don't get how to use it, same with my brother.
Your friend,
Rheanne
Violents in Video Games
I believe that violent video games do make kids more violent because the more that kids play them the more they think that it is okay to be mean. They think that it is okay that they are violent to others. Instead of learning to be nice and kind they are learning how to be mean and rude. They more they play bad games the more they think that it is good to be that way.
